Robertson Big Weekend Outreach

A team from KCI UK worked alongside KCI SA to lead a weekend of special events in Robertson from the 25th-27th March, as part of early Easter celebrations.

The first was a youth worship concert led by Drikus Erasmus and Morne Marais with band members from SA and UK. Over 450 were present. James Richards spoke about a ‘new generation' of youth. The response was so enthusiastic that the concert ended later than planned after the young crowd kept shouting 'we want more!'

On the Saturday evening 75 couples (mostly in their 20s and 30s) were at a sell out event at Spaces restaurant. James and Vasti gave a pre dinner dance talk ,'Romance in the home and Revival in the church.'

Sunday morning attendance doubled to over 300 with many new visitors. There was powerful worship led by Morne and band with an extra song from Drikus. Around 70 came forward for prayer at the end of a message by Pastor Wes Richards entitled 'faith for an impossible dream'.

The biggest event of the weekend was at Callie de Wet rugby ground when over 1000 children sitting on ground and 600 adults in grandstand attended a Kinderkerk concert. On the programme were puppets, a live band led by Drikus, a fake gorilla, costumed soldiers and shepherds and a message from Pastor Wes titled 'How you can be healed in your life, body, family and nation.'

Senior Pastor Wes Richards said, ‘It has been a great time here. We've had four outstanding evangelistic events.'

‘There was a great sense of God's favour over the whole weekend and the church has moved to a new level. Over 200 people who have made a first time commitment to Christ or asked for a home visit and are now being followed up by members of the church.'

‘Thank you for all your prayers and giving towards this event.'
